Know you're okay,
at a glance.

Ebb is a Chrome extension that forecasts your irregular income — so you can see how many days you're afloat, what's changing that, and exactly which day things might get tight. No spreadsheets, no bank credentials — just a habit that takes ten seconds.

Built for freelancers, artists, and anyone whose income doesn't arrive on a schedule.

Why it actually sticks

Ten seconds becomes a habit. The habit is what protects you.

Budgeting apps get abandoned within a week — categorizing every purchase is a chore nobody keeps up with. Ebb works differently: it's fast enough to check without thinking about it, which is exactly why people actually keep checking it. And that small daily habit is what catches a problem while there's still time to do something about it.

Ten seconds, not ten minutes

No categorizing, no reconciling. Glance at one number and you're done.

Right where you already are

It lives in your toolbar, not a separate app you have to remember to open.

Weeks of warning, not days

Because you're checking often, a dip shows up while you still have time to chase an invoice or pick up work — not after it's too late.

The problem with feast-or-famine income

Budgeting apps assume a steady paycheck.

Most finance tools are built around a number that lands in your account every two weeks like clockwork. Freelance and creative income doesn't work that way — a big invoice this week, nothing for a month, then three payments at once.

The anxiety isn't "where did my money go." It's "will I be okay if this client pays three weeks late." That's a forecasting problem, not a budgeting problem — and it's the one thing Ebb is built around.

How it works

Three small habits, one clear picture

Ebb isn't a budgeting app you dread opening. It's built to be glanced at, updated in seconds, and trusted.

01

Log what's coming

Type in a client payment or a bill — pick the date from a real calendar, no bank login required. Takes about ten seconds.

02

Watch your Flow

Your cash flow forecast, drawn as a line you can tap. See your projected balance on any day, and exactly what's driving it up or down.

03

Know before it's tight

Weeks before a shortfall would actually hit, the icon quietly shifts from sun to cloud — so you can chase an invoice or pick up work while there's still time.

Why it's different

Built for feast-or-famine income, on purpose

Most finance tools assume a steady paycheck and want your bank credentials. Ebb assumes neither.

No bank connection

You type your numbers in. Your data never leaves your browser.

Days, not months

Most runway tools round to the month. Ebb shows the actual day — sharper when rent is due Friday.

Lives in your toolbar

No app to remember to open. It's one click away, all day, wherever you're already working.

Made for creative income

Not built around a 9-to-5 paycheck. Made for retainers, gigs, and payments that show up whenever they show up.

Questions

Before you install

Does Ebb connect to my bank?

No. You enter income and expenses yourself, so your bank login and credentials never have to leave your hands — nothing about your bank account passes through Ebb at all.

Where does my data live?

On your device, in Chrome's local storage. Nothing is sent to a server. If you uninstall Ebb, your data goes with it.

How does Ebb calculate my days afloat?

Ebb takes the balance and dated income and expenses you enter, then shows how long that balance stays positive — that's your days afloat. The more up to date your entries, the more accurate the forecast.

Is this a budgeting app?

Not really. Budgeting apps ask you to categorize every coffee. Ebb only cares about one question: are you going to be okay in the weeks ahead? Everything is built around answering that fast.

Can I send invoices from Ebb?

No. There are already great invoicing tools out there, so Ebb stays focused on the one thing they don't do well: showing you where your cash flow is actually headed.

What does it cost?

Nothing. Ebb is free to use, with everything described on this page included — no account, no trial, no locked features.

Ten seconds a day. One number that matters.
